Is morning skin cleansing necessary?

Did you know that the skin is an incredibly intelligent organ with the ability to both self-cleanse and self-moisturize?

This is the topic of today’s article – local skincare.

Let’s just think for a moment – did we have countless special cosmetic products or treatments in the past, like we do now, and how did women maintain their skin back then? They took care of it using simple, natural methods and very little product.

So, what’s happening now? Most of us can’t wait to buy the next “top” cosmetic product that will save our skin. We have an entire cabinet full of cosmetics, and for us, this is a very important and sensitive topic. We apply all sorts of things, and the truth is that we often overdo it.

I’m not convinced that our skin is healthier or more beautiful now compared to the women of the past.

Years ago, I used professional, expensive cosmetics and worried about what would happen if I couldn’t afford them at some point. And only when I optimized my skincare routine, in the way I now advise all my clients to do, did I begin to notice a significant change in my skin.

I know it sounds strange and perhaps somewhat illogical, simply because we are used to hearing and have been conditioned to believe that without all these special cosmetic products, our skin won’t look good or be in good condition. I assure you – this is not true!

Morning skincare cleansing

Morning skincare cleansing is one of the things that many women definitely overdo, believing they are doing something good for their skin.

The skin needs to be cleaned more thoroughly in the evening to remove makeup and impurities that have accumulated on it throughout the day. Yes, this step is important. But the truth is, there is no valid reason to repeat this entire process in the morning.

At night, while we sleep, a light layer of oil (sebum) may form on oilier problem skin. For drier skin types, this layer may be completely undetectable or absent.

But in fact, this oil is NOT the enemy of the skin; it is a natural way for the body to attempt to rehydrate and balance the skin.

By cleansing or rinsing the skin every morning, we take away its ability to naturally hydrate, nourish, and balance itself.

And regardless of whether the oiliness is more or less, you can simply choose one of the following 3 options:

  1. Gently wipe your skin with a cotton pad soaked in green tea toner.
  2. Apply a thin layer of Manuka honey to your skin for 3-4 minutes while brushing your teeth, and then rinse it off with water.

3. Simply splash your face with water.

And I assure you, this is more than enough!

My general advice is: DO NOT use standard cleansing foams, gels, or micellar waters in the morning.

There is no point in this step, and the truth is, it may even harm your skin.

Try this natural approach, and I’m sure you’ll be surprised by the result!

I’d also be interested to hear how you cleanse your skin in the morning. Have you tried a Manuka honey mask, and what do you think of this advice? Do you agree with me?
